This is a preliminary sub-sub-series. Please consult the linked accession record, boxes 8 and 11, for details.

Sub-sub-series consists of copies of four chronological lists of civil aircraft accident reports. These lists were presumably used for quick reference by the Air Safety Investigation Division of Transport Canada.

The lists included in this sub-sub-series are: "A Record of Aircraft Accidents in Canada which involved death or injury to Air Pilots, Passengers or Third Parties" 1919-1951; reports of domestic accidents 1948-1963; reports of accidents involving foreign aircraft 1949-1957; reports of dewline accidents 1955-1957. Please note that the later lists appear to be limited to reports of accidents for which boards of inquiry were convened.

Source of title:

Title based on the contents of the sub-sub-series.

Note on the state of conservation:

The edges of the chronological lists pertaining to the 1950s occurences are crumbling. Please consult the photocopies rather than the originals.

Custodial history:

The records were transferred by the Transportation Safety Board at the time of its creation in 1990. Because the records pertain to occurrences when the Department of Transport was responsible for air occurrence investigation, the records have been included in the Transport Canada fonds.
