Mel Shaw won the CMPA & CMRRA Award of Achievement for leading a successful copyright campaign. After winning the award, Mel Shaw, on behalf of all who campaigned for copyright change, offered it to the Honorable Flora MacDonald, she had been responsible for signing the legislation into law. Mel Shaw produced a publishing industry video featuring Bryan Adams, David Foster, Dan Hill, Bruce Allen and other major Canadian songwriter/recording artists that was broadcast to the Canadian Government.
