The story of Harry, a Bell telephone installer, and his younger brother, Greg, who spend the day running errands around town. Harry discusses the importance of job dedication, dependable performance, and customer satisfaction in the work place. Harry and Greg rate the job performance of the sales people they meet at the gas station, grocery store, hardware store, and a clothing store where they exchange a jacket with a defective zipper. Later, they stop in at the Bell Telephone repair office. There they watch telephone operators handle customer complaints. A fellow co-worker joins them at the coffee shop, where Harry reviews his on-the-job performance during the previous day as the camera cuts away to his experiences installing phones. The satisfied customer of a simple service call contrasts with that of a particularly trying installation that required extra assistance and numerous trips up and down a telephone pole. The film concludes with a sequence in which a customer's newly installed telephone is used to divert an emergency and Harry's Co-worker reads the grateful letter of thanks. <28mn 50s>
