Scope and content:

New Year's greeting card with decorated greeting block. Creator has noted that this is likely the earliest recorded card printed in Canada, and was likely an early form of advertising. As noted in the Hamilton City Directory for the year 1873-74, S. H. Wheeler was the owner of the Commercial Hotel located in downtown Hamilton.
