Reports on Dieppe by Bob Bowman (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation); Wallace Reyburn (Montreal Standard); Ross Munro (Canadian Press); Fred Griffin (Toronto Star); and Drew Middleton (Associated Press).~Bob Bowman describes the value of the Dieppe Raid, saying it aided Russia by forcing Germany to reinforce the western front. Squadron Leader Chadburn and Flight Lieutenant Russell of the Canadian Spitfire Squadron are interviewed about the air battle over Dieppe. This was apparently the first direct report from fighting airmen of the Canadian Corps. Hundreds of German planes were destroyed. Great knowledge was gained about the German defences.~Wallace Reyburn's impressions are read by someone else. (Rayburn was wounded at Dieppe). He describes the landing at Dieppe and the heroism of Canadian troops in hand to hand combat, especially a soldier named Stuart. He also describes the Canadian losses on the beach during the retreat.~Drew Middleton describes the defeat of the Luftwaffe by the Royal Air Force and the heavy bombing sustained by the navy during the raid.~Ross Munro describes the heroism of Canadian troops on the beach near Dieppe under heavy fire from the enemy, which was heavily entrenched on higher ground.~Fred Griffin describes the general scene at Dieppe and the heroism of crew members on the invading fleet.
