A tour of the DEW (Distant Early Warning) line Stations in the Canadian north. A map shows us spots the tour will cover. They include Montreal to Cape Dyer (Nunavut); Hall Beach? (Nunavut); Cambridge Bay (Nunavut); Tuktoyaktuk? (Northwest Territories); and Edmonton (Alberta). Shots include a man getting off a plane and into a tracked snow cat. Exterior shots of a DEW station and radar. Inuit family in traditional clothing eating apples - a treat by the military personnel. Fox Dew Line written in snow. Station with fuel silos and hundreds of fuel barrels half buried in the snow. Dog team pulling sled with three fuel barrels. Inuit filming cameraman at airport. Cambridge Bay Federal School, Inuit children enter classroom and sit at their school desks. Indoor at the country store. RCMP and defence personnel visiting dry docked ship RCMP Spalding. Military personnel visiting nurse and Inuit baby in hospital? Pumping water from a frozen lake into a tank inside a truck. Filling a house with water from hose from truck.
