Description:

This is the fourth annual Empire Christmas broadcast, with messages from all parts of the Empire and Commonwealth and a Christmas message from King George V. The following people send Christmas greetings: a family from the north of England; a Canadian family from Ottawa; a Scottish farmer; a South African; a man in Northern Ireland; and an Englishman in Bombay, who describes how Christmas is celebrated in Bombay. In his message, King George V makes reference to his 25 years as king, the marriage of his son and death of his sister, and the anxiety felt in Europe and other parts of the world. The radio program concludes with a "chain" performance of God Save the Queen by choirs in Northern Ireland, Scotland, the North of England, Wales and London. <1h>
