This third episode in this television documentary series covers the fall of France and the Low Countries before Hitler's Panzer Divisions.~The topics and events covered are: the state of readiness of the French Armed Forces; the political confrontations between the Left and the Right in an unstable French politcal climate; an exploration and examination of the Maginot Line; the Wehrmacht's development of the Blitzkreig; French mobilization and preparation for war; French invasion of the Saar; a lowering French Armed Forces morale; German military strategy; the launching of the German invasions; and the German entry into Paris and the capitulation of the French government and the citizens of Paris.~The following shots and scenes are shown: a photograph of Heinz Guderian; Bastille Day celebrated in Paris streets, 14 July 1939; a photograph of General Gamelin; Gamelin in the field; and General Weygand.~Comments are made by: General André Beaufre, then of the French High Command; Lawrence Durell; Gordon Waterfield, journalist; General Warlimont, then of the German High Command; and General Von Monteuffel, then of the German High Command. <60mn>
