Proceedings of a Canadian Broadcasting League conference entitled Satellite-Cable Networks and the Option of Pay Television. The location of the conference is the National Arts Centre Salon. The speakers are: Canadian Broadcasting League Acting President Margaret Collier, Secretary of State and Minister of Communications David MacDonald and Graham Spry, Past President of the Canadian Broadcasting League, from 9 to 10 a.m. The speakers in the opening plenary, from 10 to 11:20 a.m. are: Charles Dalfen, vice-chair of the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission, who chairs the plenary; Canadian Broadcasting Corporation President A.W. Johnson; Telesat Canada President and Chief Executive Officer David Golden; Alain Gourd, Vice-Chair for Television, of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters; A. Walter, Assistant Vice-President of Policy Development for Bell Canada; and E.S. Rogers, President, Rogers Telecommunications Limited. From 11:20 a.m. to noon there is an Open Discussion period. The luncheon speaker is Henry Hindley. The chair of the luncheon is Alphonse Ouimet, chair of the board of Telesat Canada. The second plenary, scheduled for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., features the following speakers: plenary chair Professor Frank W. Peers of the University of Toronto; Member of Parliament Jeanne Sauvé; Kevin Shea, Executive Coordinator of Cable Satellite Network Limited; and Jack Gray, President of the Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists. This is followed by an Open Discussion period at 2:30 p.m. and adjournment at 4 p.m.
