This accession contains administrative and operational central registry files principally outlining the local activities at Banff National Park. The registry system used at Banff for these records, 1905-1949, is not tied into the headquarters system, but is essentially alphabetical in arrangement. The subjects covered include every aspect of park life such as personal management respecting staff, townsite development, buildings and ground maintenance, superintendent or warden responsibilities and activities, flora and fauna, licensing and park regulations, leases, construction, and liaison with external institutions or persons (e.g. C.P.R.). Included are monthly statistical summaries documenting the park's activities and growth over a forty year period. In addition, there is also a small number (7 files) of Accounts records pertaining to Yoho National Park, 1916-1925.
Since 2010, archival records are held at the Regional Service Centre in Winnipeg.
