A lecture presented by Emil Fackenheim as the Yaacov Herzog Memorial Lecture at McGill University with an introductory speech by Principal Bell of McGill about: the establishment of the Yaacov Herzog Memorial Lecture series; Dr. Yaacov Herzog, Israeli diplomat and scholar, Israeli ambassador to Canada 1960-63; diplomacy, politics, international relations; Judaism; Mrs Yaacov Herzog. This is followed by a brief introductory speech by Dr. Leo Jaffe, philosopher, about: the Herzog Memorial Lecture Committee; Emil Fackenheim, Fackenheim's fame, Fackenheim's background and education, ordination as a Rabbi in 1939, his doctorate at the U. of T, Fackenheim's writings, papers and books, his honoary degrees.
