Collection search - Central registry files of the Inland Waters Directorate [textual record]

This accession consists of a broad range of central registry files from the 7000 block of Environment Canada's file classification system which was allotted to the Inland Waters Directorate (IWD) for its operational activities.

This accession covers all of the main activities of IWD and its predecessors, including the Great Lakes committees, snow and ice surveys, sediment surveys, water pollution, international and interprovincial waters committees, joint commissions, flood damage reduction, agreements and treaties, and conservation of water.

Though most of the records were created by predecessors to the Inland Waters Directorate, they have been brought forward into the file classification system used at Environment Canada beginning around 1970.
