This accession contains records created by the Property, Planning and Management branch of Energy, Mines and Resources Canada. Individual files related to proposed renovations to buildings, construction of new facilities, or the purchase of leasing of existing structures for departmental use. The records include proposals, architectural plans, and specifications, along with correspondence with the department of public works or private contractor.

Such diverse structures as observatory research stations, satellite stations, magnetic observatories, and seismic stations in centres across Canada are included here. Of particular interest are files pertaining to the Bedford institute, Dartmouth N.S. and the Institute of Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology, Calgary.
