As set out earlier in the description of Series XI, Murray was Mulroney's main man on Meech and the Constitution. Thus, the records in this series are a component of the "Full Monty" on Meech as captured in the Murray fonds. This series consists of correspondence, memoranda, briefs, some press clippings and some press releases. Many of these files are reference material and / or informational pieces which shaped Murray's thinking on the Constitution, and used by him to promote agreement on disputatious points. There are files on significant topics under Meech, such as distinct society and acceptance of Meech by the Aboriginal peoples. Other files hold correspondence with prominent thinkers and politicians commenting on Meech (such as Eugene Forsey, Deb Gray and Robert Stanfield). Media campaigns and political tours promoting Meech are reflected in these files, as well as outreach to women as a group for their approbation. There are also clusters of files on the proposed Companion Resolution, Premier Wells' opposition and the Manitoba Ratification. Finally, Murray assembled file groups on press reviews and press commentary on the Meech process, which he used as he tried to help steer Meech to a successful conclusion.
