This series consists of some correspondence and notes by Murray. It also holds reports, minutes, agendas, representations, and proceedings. This is the Full Monty on Meech Lake and the Mulroney Government's attempts at constitutional reform and bringing Quebec into the constitution. Murray was Mulroney's key lieutenant for the Meech Lake endeavour (Mulroney, for example, ordered all ministers at Meech to lay down their pens, and instructed that Murray alone would make the official steno record of the discussions that occurred at the retreat). And as minister for Federal-Provincial Relations, Murray lead all the various subsequent discussions and initiatives to get Meech Lake adopted accepted by the provinces).

There is much background material on many aspects of constitutional reform (how the reform would touch official languages, trade, transport, industrial development, the provinces individually, for example). Then there are records detailing what occurred at Meech Lake proper, and the initial public and political response to it. There are records which capture the activities of the Special Joint Committee on Amending the Constitution and the Special Joint Committee of the House and Senate. Other files document the various federal-provincial meetings to find a resolution / compromise on the Meech Lake proposals, the Constitutional Accord. Yet other files detail meetings with Premier McKenna of New Brunswick, attempts to bring in agreement with Aboriginal peoples, the Langevin Accord, the Special Committee on New Brunswick and the Charlottetown proceedings.
