This series consist of correspondence, notes, reports and some published and press material. Some of it links back to Series VI (Political and PC Party Records (Part I), nd / 1979-1985), but most is from post-1985, when Mulroney came to power. The files are related to PC Party activity as the Party geared for elections, such as: monitoring and shaping public opinion; election speeches; work with Party groups at various levels and in the regions; policy development; and caucuses which made decisions in various areas of electioneering. Some of the correspondence files are a very important and revealing prelude to 1985.
