This series consists of correspondence, notes, commentaries, reports and some press material. It sets out Murray's early political activities, from his student days to the fall of the Clark government in 1979. It makes clear his political evolution, and his political philosophy. The records reflect his earliest political appointments, from his role as assistant to Davie Fulton to his appointments as advisor to PC governments in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. From these positions, Murray established his extensive political network and his bona fides as a trusted and valuable player as a significant insider in the PC party across all of Canada, with key influence in the shaping of PC Party policy and electioneering over almost half a century.
