This is a photograph of Sheouak Petaulassie (1923-1961) and her child. Sheouak was involved with the graphic art production of the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative. She was one the first Inuit to incorporate Southern material culture into her drawings in pieces like "The Pot Spirits" (1960).
