This is a photograph of Sheouak Petaulassie (1923-1961), her child and a friend during a visit to the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative. A member of the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative, Sheouak was one the first Inuit to incorporate Southern material culture into her drawings in pieces like "The Pot Spirits" (1960).
