V.K. Frishna Menon of India criticizes the Disarmament Commission for falling short of expectations and the French delegate for his rigidity. He claims India has been calling for a test ban treaty since 1954, and is trying to bring an independent view to disarmament negotiations. Vasily V. Kuznetsoy of the USSR claims his country is willing to sign a treaty banning nuclear explosions and that the West, particularly the United States, Great Britain, and France, should make the next move. His voice is barely audible under that of an English translator. Other footage shows the translation desk. An eleven second count-in precedes the item. <237s>Subjects:AMBASSADORS~DISARMAMENT~INDIA~NUCLEAR WEAPONS TESTING~SOVIET UNION~UNITED NATIONSLanguage:EnglishOriginal number:CB 8940Notes:Detailed holdings information: -
