General note:

These Registry files relate to the Division's inspection of sewage, water and sanitation facilities to ensure that no danger to public health and drinking supplies occurred. The files relate to individual projects - a school, military base, hospital, etc. A separate series in box 35617 relates to similar inspection activities on ships. The files contain reports on the facilities, forms for inspection, and related correspondence.

The files were later transferred to Environment Canada, but were not altered by that agency.
