Photo depicting Louis Yvon walking with his children and one of his newly donated cow probably towards his residence in Saint Labre, Manitoba. In May 1956, Mr. Yvon, a farmer and father of eight children from Saint Labre, lost his only source of income when a fire destroyed his barn and cattle. Within days, the Carillon News (Eugene Derksen as editor) organized a fundraiser which brought money to buy two cows from Albert Laramée, a farmer from La Broquerie, to give to the Yvon family. Bruno Derksen, the Carillon News' advertising manager, is depicted in this photograph holding a camera.
