General note:

The National Museum Train-also known as the Discovery Train-was a mobile exhibit mounted in 1978 by the National Museums of Canada to celebrate Canada's heritage. The 14-car train, which housed more than 2,000 artifacts documenting Canada's natural, economic and political history, was dismantled in 1980. The records in this accession consist of files relating to the creation, design, contracting, refurbishing, launching and scheduling of the National Museums Train.
