NATIONAL PRESS THEATREAccession:1983-0368Media:SoundPart:1 of 1Production date:1983-12-01Description:News conference held by Daryl Bean, Executive Vice-President of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, and Louise Hall, head of the Health and Safety Section. In bilingual opening statements they voice their concern that public servants will be excluded from health and safety legislation about to be presented for a vote as part of the Canada Labour Code. They complain about the lack of legal protection and policing standards and the attitude of Treasury Board towards health and safety protection. They also introduce the Allance's black paper on health and safety and discuss its conclusions and recommendations. Questions are then fielded, in English and in French, from the assembled journalists on the tardiness of the PSAC's health and safety campaign, and the Alliance's exchanges with federal ministers, especially with Treasury Board Minister Herb Gray. <21mn>Language:English / FrançaisNotes: -
