This fonds consists of correspondence, reports, briefs to the federal government, subject files, leaflets, posters, scrapbooks, photo albums and photographs.

This material is significant for the study of social, cultural and political history of the Ukrainian community in eastern Canada and the movement to free Valentyn Moroz and other Soviet political prisoners in the 1970s and 1908s. Through these and other related activities, Valentyn Moroz was released from the Soviet Union and arrived in Canada. The fonds provides rare and interesting historical information on the Cold War in Canada from the anti-Soviet perspective of the Ukrainian Canadian community.

Hayduk, Volodymyr, 1952- : Walter Hayduk born in 1952 was a Ukrainian community activist in Montreal during the 1970s. He was involved in a number of Ukrainian community projects, including: publication of the newspaper OKO; the Olympic Committee; Free Valentyn Moroz Committee; Ukrainian Famine Committee. Hayduk was also involved in other activities that lobbied the Canadian federal government regarding Soviet dissidents and Canadian policy towards the Soviet Union.
