This series is composed of correspondence, clippings, memoranda, reports, speech material and memorabilia generated during Diefenbaker's second tenure as Leader of the Opposition from April 1963 to September 1967. The series is organized in three sub-series: Numbered-unnumbered correspondence, Priority correspondence, and General correspondence.

LAC's holdings in this series include the first 14 of the 258 volumes that make up the IX Second Leader of the Opposition Series. These 14 volumes are part of the first sub-series, Numbered and unnumbered correspondence Sub-series.
