Collection search - Lookout, Hindu and Chinese Case files [textual record]

This accession consists in three types of regional files:
1- Files from the "H" series, which is comprised of case files relating to Hindu immigration, including sponsorship cases. Though mostly from the 1950's-1970's, some of the files go back to the 1920's.
2- "Lookout files" for the use of immigration agents at points of entry identifying undesirables who may have attempted to enter the country.
3- Files from the "CH" series, which is comprised of case files relating to Chinese immigration or Chinese individuals, including sponsorship cases. Information in the files span from the early 1910's to the early 1970's.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
