Compiled by Cheryl Gillard~Side A of cassette tape contains Shekhinah by Brian Cherney, CBC-McGill Radio Concert. At the beginning of the concert, the work is introduced by the violist Rivka Golani, who believes there are similarities between Cherney's work and the composition of Dmitri Shostakovich. In spite of the fact Shekhinah “has to do with death and tragedy, she believes the piece has a “positive, spiritual message” and leaves you feeling “sad but not depressed”. Along with Brian Cherney, she was amazed when she discovered Shekhinah contained the “only one lullaby her father used to sing to her”, she finds this impossible to explain because the composer previously knew nothing about her past.
