This is a memorial portrait of Leonard W. Brockington by his friends and relatives. His brother Frank recalls Bockington as an impetuous young man. Reginald C. Carlisle of Calgary discusses Brockington's career as Calgary city solicitor. Cecil Lamont of the North West Grain Growers Association reminisces about Brockington as an entertaining companion on business trips. Next is an extract from Brockington's inaugural address as chair of the CBC, with an introduction by Ernest.L. Bushnell. Graham Spry, Agent-General of Saskatchewan, and an influential lobbyist in Canadian broadcasting, assesses Brockington's contribution to national broadcasting as CBC Chair. Next is an excerpt of Brockington's address at the North American Kiwanis Club convention in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1961. The Earl of Swinton discusses Brockington's war-time broadcasts heard in England. Mrs. Cecily Williams recalls her friendly relations with Brockington when she was his driver in wartime London. Next is an extract from Brockington's broadcast "D-Day on a Canadian Destroyer". Lord Tweedsmuir, son of John Buchan, recalls Brockington as a very kind friend. Humorist A.P. Herbert speaks of Brockington as a fascinating entertainer. Next is an extract from Brockington's speech as a Canadian welcoming Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Yousuf Karsh speaks of his friends. Next is an extract of Brockington's tribute to Winston Churchill on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Brockington's rectorship at Queen's University is recalled by the chaplain of Queen's from the same era. Emlyn Davies, as a railway man, and friend, salutes Brockington on the occasion of his death. <57mn>
