Sound recording of instrumental performances by Ted Elstrom's jazz ensemble of: Shangri-la; Boumgali; Love for Sale; The Song Is You; You Don't What Love Is; Danse avec moi; In Love in Vain. Also included is a fragment of an edition of the CBC radio series Sweet and Sour, broadcast from Montreal and featuring the recital of poetry and music by a jazz nonet led by Elfstrom (including a performance of The Nearness of You). <28mn 11s>

1. Other extent, physical details information: 1 audio reel : acetate, 7.5 ips ; 18 cm in diam.~2. Label on audio reel box is from Laurentien Records, Montreal, and is signed by Ted Elfstrom.~3. The date "12/6/58" appears on the audio reel box; it is not clear whether this is 12 June 1958 or 6 December 1958, and moreover the date might apply to a previous use of the audio reel box. There is no date on the label and track list from Laurentien Records.~4. The recording begins with the Elfstrom jazz ensemble (duration 21 min. 29 sec.), which after a gap is followed by the fragment of Sweet and Sour.
