Sound recording of editions of the CBC radio series Jazz for Sunday and Music from Montreal.~Jazz for Sunday is broadcast from Montreal and showcases the Art Moreau Band. Featured are leader Art Moreau (flute, tenor saxophone), Herbie Spanier (trumpet), Yvan Landry (vibraphone), and Al Baculis (clarinet, alto saxophone). Included are performances of: After You, Alphonse (composed by Baculis); An August Evening (composed and arranged by Moreau); Walking Bass (comp. Henry Mancini); A Suite in Three Parts (comp. Baculis), comprising the movements Moderato, Rather Slow, A Swinging Waltz; Theme for Sheila (comp. Moreau). Host Bert Adkins introduces the performers and the compositions.~Music from Montreal features the CBC Concert Orchestra under the direction of Neil Chotem. Included are performances of: Cumana (comp. Barclay Allen); Moon River (comp. Mancini); Blues for Chimes (comp. Edmund Assaly), featuring Guy Lachapelle; Close (comp. Cole Porter, arr. Assaly); Jota (comp. Manuel de Falla); Contrasts (comp. Chotem); I Can't Get Started (comp. Vernon Duke, arr. Chotem); Someone to Watch Over Me (comp. George Gershwin), with Chotem at the piano.
