Sound recording of music under the collective title Phantasmes. The compositions on the first reel are: Choeur - Plainte, for voices, wave sounds, and Rhodes [keyboard]; Laugh, for laughing voices and organ; Gliss voix, for female voices (performed by Sylvie, Luana); Gliss voix, for female voices and guitar (performed by Sylvie, Luana); Orateur, for voices simulating speech. The compositions on the second reel are: Voix première section, for voices; Affection, for voices; Fender Rhodes pour miroir, for electric piano; Pno [Piano] à l'envers pour levé d'corps, for piano [backwards and forwards?]; untitled, for metronome and piano (backwards and forwards); Clay Drums. <1h 18mn 14s>

1. Other extent, physical details information: 2 audio reels : polyester, 4 track master, 7.5 and 15 ips ; 25 cm in diam.~2. Sound recording is listed in Chotem's classical index under the general heading "Background music Chotem assorted".~3. Noted on audio reel boxes: beside title of recording, "original"; concerning Orateur, "keep [track] 3 for echo effect"; concerning Affection, "essai seulement"; concerning Pno [Piano] à l'envers pour levé d'corps, "ne pas garder / essai".~4. The listing on the audio reel boxes includes details concerning which instruments and sounds are on which of the 4 tracks.~5. The first reel is at 7.5 ips. On the second reel, Fender Rhodes pour miroir is at 15 ips; the other compositions are at 7.5 ips.~6. Pno [Piano] à l'envers pour levé d'corps was apparently recorded at 7.5 and 15 ips, but the audio reel box listing suggests that playback is intended at 7.5 ips.~7. Possibly for the ca. 1979 dance work Phantasmes choreographed by Neil Chotem's partner, the dancer Françoise Riopelle, with music by Chotem.
