Performance by the McGill Chamber Orchestra (Alexander Brott, conductor) of the works Ritual by Alexander Brott; Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach; Aria "Erbame dich, mein Gott" from St. Matthew Passion BWV 244; Concerto Grosso No. 5 in D Minor, Op. 3 by Georg Frideric Handel and Cantata Salve Regina by Domenico Scarlatti (Gabrielle Lavigne, soprano); Sonata No. 1 in G Minor for unaccompanied violin by Johann Sebastian Bach (orchestration by Alexander Brott of an arrangement by Robert Schumann). The CBC program also includes an interview of Alexander Brott (prior to the concert) and of the critic and broadcaster Kenneth Winters; a performance of the Cradle Song from Brott's work Songs of Contemplation (Gaelyne Gabora, soprano; McGill Chamber Orchestra); the opening portion of the work Spheres in Orbit (Symphony Orchestra of the Soviet Radio and Television, under the direction of Brott); 2 Fugues from the Young Prometheus by Ludwig van Beethoven (arrangements by Alexander Brott; CBC Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Brott); host: Ian Alexander. <2h 6mn 43s>
