This series informs on the activities of Chaviva Hosek as director of Liberal Party of Canada's Research Bureau. This office analyzed the political, social and economic issues and elaborated strategies on which based itself the speech and the action of the Liberal Party of Canada as the Official Opposition in the House of Commons. These orientations are visible in the leader's of the Official Opposition's actions as well as in members of parliament actions.

This series contains correspondence, memorandum, reports, studies, submissions to the Prime Minister's Office or other federal bodies, releases, speeches, clipping and copies of articles, agendas and phone notes.

This series is divided into three sub-series: Subject Files sub-series (1983-1993), Correspondence sub-series (1990-1993) and Agendas sub-series(1990-1993).

Conservation:

The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.
