La série comprend un catalogue principal d'environ 90 000 fiches. Chacune de ces fiches répertorie le titre d'une chanson, son compositeur, interprète, ainsi que le nom et le numéro d'étiquette qui lui sont associés. Y figurent aussi la date de mise en marché, la date d'annulation de distribution, de l'information supplémentaire sur les droits d'auteur et, dans le cas de plusieurs 45 tours, le titre des chansons figurant au verso des microsillons. Le catalogue principal de fiches commence en 1958 et contient également des enregistrements diffusés sur les ondes radiophoniques au moment où commence la publication du Disc-O-Logue en 1962. Par conséquent, le catalogue principal de fiches comprend quelques enregistrements mis en marché vers la fin des années 1950. D'autre part, Madame Lamothe ayant poursuivi son travail d'indexation même après que le Disc-O-Logue eut cessé d'être publié annuellement, on peut y retrouver des chansons allant jusqu'à 1985. Louise Lamothe aura créé ses premières fiches bien avant l'avènement des ordinateurs personnels; elle y a donc soigneusement dactylographié l'information en ajoutant ici et là des notes manuscrites. Au moment où Bibliothèque et archives Canada acquérait le fonds Disc-O-Logue, les fiches de Madame Lamothe étaient organisées par ordre alphabétique et répertoriées selon la méthode suivante : les chansons disponibles sur le marché ; et les chansons qui n'y étaient pas disponibles au moment où Madame Lamothe cessait son travail d'indexation.
