The series contains sound and video recordings, including: master recordings, work tapes, studio mixes, rough mixes, dubs, tapes of live concert performances (including Dan Hill's first 1973 performance at the Riverboat in Toronto), demos, outtakes, monitor mixes, master mixes, safety mixes (copies of master mix for safe storage) and master transfers. The recordings in the series document the history of popular music and highlight the work of Dan Hill and his collaborations with Canadian and American musicians and producers, including: Celine Dion, Barry Mann, Michael Masser, Keith Stegall, George Benson, Tina Turner, Vonda Sheppard, Charles Judge, John Capek, Doug James, Rick Hahn, John Lewis Parker, Hank Medress, Andrew Goldmark, John Sheard, Rique Franks, Paul Quarrington, Gabe Lee, Mark Gray, Tammy Wynette, Salome Bey, Domenic Troiano, Laura [Branigan], Jennifer Rush, Lisa Dal Bello, Corinne Plomish, Julie Masse, Leroy Sibbles, Ross Harwood, among others. The mixes and tapes were recorded at various studios, including: Manta Sound, Toronto; ATV Music Group, Hollywood; A&M Records, Hollywood; Westlake Studios, Los Angeles; Record Plant, Hollywood; Secret Studio, San Francisco; Quadrasonic Sound Systems, New York and Right Track Recording, New York, among others. The series also contains personal tapes, including songs taped for family celebrations.
