Series consists of historical and political information on the life and career of a Russian emigré in Canada. Ignatieff's draft manuscripts of the history of Russia and the Soviet Union indicate his continued interest in his country of origin. His correspondence with his wife provides an interesting insight into both the life of an officer in England during the Second World War, and his wife in Canada, who gave birth to their son while Nicholas was overseas. His position as Warden of Hart House provided him with access to the political and cultural elite in English Canada at that time.
