Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Vancouver Port Corporation, a predecessor of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.

The accession includes, but is not limited to, records relating to the construction, maintenance and repair of various port structures such as piers, wharves, jetties, terminals, overpasses, ferry ramps, garages, sheds, grain elevators, freight stations, cranes, floats, Burrard Inlet crossings, and other structures.

The accession also contains plans showing harbour soundings, waterlots, first nations reserves (including Kitsilano, Squamish, Flase Creek, and Capilano Indian Reserves), foreshore areas, rights of way, dredging areas, and other locations.

The accession also contains photograph prints, negatives, and slides showing various Vancouver Port Corporation properties and structures, including Ballantyne Pier, Vanterm, Canada Place, Roberts Bank, Lynnterm and Neptune. Photos also show other ports in Canada, including Quebec, Saguenay, Sept-Iles, Trois-Rivières, Chicoutimi, Port Colbourne, Prescott, Halifax, Churchill, Belledune, Prince Rupert, and Ridley Island.
