Ce versement contient des documents originaux créés par le CN et ses prédécesseurs ainsi que de la documentation publiée, de provenance très variée, récoltée par les bibliothèques de la compagnie. On trouve également quelques pièces éparses, d'intérêt plutôt muséal, comme des billets et horaires de chemin de fer. Les boîtes 1 et 2 contiennent le rapport de la commission d'enquête "Inquiry Commission relating to CNR "Run Throughs", rapports qui existent déjà au sein du fonds du Ministère du travail (RG 27), série L-4-i, volumes 3395-3401. Les boîtes 3 et 4 contiennent le procès-verbal de la commission d'arbitrage "Conciliation Board between non-operating railway employees and [CNR and other railway companies]", rapport qui existe également au sein du fonds du Ministère du travail (RG 27), (R-224-85-5). Les boîtes 5 à 7 contiennent les rapports annuels du CN de 1923 à 1955, rapports qui font déjà partie du fonds aux séries suivantes . Les boîtes 8 et 9 contiennent deux cartables regroupant des manuels d'instructions destinés aux employés datant de 1921 à 1956. Les boîtes 10 à 16 contiennent des publications canadiennes et étrangères portant sur des sujets d'intérêt ferroviaire: publicité touristique, catalogue de pièces, manuels techniques, rapports gouvernementaux, monographies. La boîte 17 contient des document créés par le CN relatifs au transport de la soie. La boîte 18 contient des manuels de codes utilisés en télégraphie au début du vingtième siècle. La boîte 19 contient des rapports annuels rédigés par divers bureaux du Service de colonisation et d'agriculture du CN, rapports que l'on trouve déjà dans la série V-A-9-j. Les boîtes 20 et 21 contiennent des rapports financiers créés par le CN. Les boîtes 22, 24 et 25 contiennent des notes de recherche de l'équipe du colonel G.R. Stevens et qui ont servi à la préparation de son histoire du CN. La boîte 23 contient des manuels de formation utilisés par le CN dans le contexte de cours de formation des cadres en 1960 et 1961, il s'agit essentiellement de brochures, dépliants, tirés à part ou de photocopies d'ouvrages à l'étude. Les boîtes 26 à 29 contiennent divers documents créés par le CN. Les boîtes 30 et 31 contiennent des publications canadiennes et quelques documents créés par le CN dans un contexte difficile à cerner.
