Accession consists of central registry files from the Statistics Canada's Regional Operations Division, formerly known as Field Division. The records are from the 5600 file registry block, for "Special Projects."

The records relate to a range of special projects, including the taking of various surveys, including the: Canadian Travel Survey, Nutrition Canada Survey, Consumer Finance Survey, the Survey of Special Care Facilities and Services, Short Fall in Enrollment Survey, Student Aid Applicants Survey, Survey of the Release from Custody of Accused Persons (pilot), Survey of Non-Work Time (pilot), Time-Use Survey, Agriculture Enumerative Survey, Judicial Surveys (pilot), Post Secondary School Students Survey, Farm Expenditure Survey (pilot), Work Experience Survey, etc. Also included are records relating to the 'Ten Respondents Rule', which stated that government departments performing surveys with more than ten respondents must consult with Statistics Canada to ensure that methodology is correct and work is not duplicated.
