Series consists of Mines Action Canada, working jointly with the Canadian Red Cross and the Department of Foreign Affairs, founded of the Youth Mine Action Ambassador Program (YMAAP) in 1998. The YMAAP program was the first of its kind anywhere in the world, and operated until 2005. The goal of the Youth Mine Action Ambassador Program was to create sustainable community action within Canada to support the global movement to end the suffering caused by landmines. This was achieved through a variety of outreach activities including presentations, advocacy workshops, mobilizing volunteers and organizing public awareness events. Each year of the program an average of eight youth mine action ambassadors (YAs) were been appointed. After two weeks of training and an international study tour, YAs were deployed across Canada to raise awareness and engage young Canadians in the landmines issue.

MAC was a member of the YMAAP Steering Committee and served as the financial administrator.
