106 regimental badges.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Volume 2 is a red cloth-bound album with a burgundy leather spine and corner accents. "The Gift of C. Berkeley Powell" is inscribed in gold leaf on the bottom of front cover, and "Powell Scrap-Book II" is engraved on the spine. The scrapbook consists of 50 sheets of light cardstock, and a back section that contains 13 sheets of lined paper. The looseleaf section is gradually becoming unbound, and the tissue paper that separates individual pages has become extremely brittle. Items in this album are not arranged chronologically. It primarily deals with military readiness and training at home and abroad, and includes sections on the Royal Military College, Kingston, military drills, training camps, and competitions across Canada, as well as in Britain. It is predominantly pictorial, with most items originating from publications such as the Dominion Illustrated.

Three quarter portrait of Lt. Col. Thomas Ross, major commanding the Governor General's Foot Guards when it was formed in 1872. "Thomas Ross was a Brevet Lieutenant Colonel in the Ottawa Brigade of Garrison Artillery when he made application to have the Guards created, 'to add pomp and circumstance to the new capital'. But, it was in his civilian capacity that he was able to convince the minister of militia of his ideas. As a clerk in the finance department for the Government of Canada he held considerable power and eventually became the highest paid civil servant. Lt.Col Ross commanded until 1886."
