This film, in two parts, consists of the following: head title which reads "Golden Rays in Trinidad - The Story of a New Island Industry"; first inter-title: "Trinidad grapefruit! Grown with tropical showers and ripened in tropical sunshine, it appeals to the eye as much as the taste." This is followed by a few shots of different brands of grapefruit named 'Golden Ray' and 'Blue Ray'. Next are shots of field workers planting seeds, inspecting plants and inserting buds into orange seedlings, shots of grapefruit trees, long shot of a field being prepared, three-year-old plants, an orchard of fruit, harvesting, and labourers on ladders picking fruit from the trees, the fruit being packed into crates and loaded onto trucks, the packing house in Port of Spain and unloading the crates from the truck. Part two begins with the intertitle: "The packing house is controlled by a co-operative association which packs all grapefruit exported from Trinidad." Footage shows: the interior of the packing house. An intertitle reads "Cases are of Canadian material...". Next are shots of workers assembling crates, loading them full of fruit, fruit being sprayed, scrubbed and loaded into a dryer, the polishing machine, and an assembly line of women grading fruit. It continues to a sizing machine and then individually wrapped and packed into a crate which is sealed and wired shut for shipping. The crates are stacked and then loaded onto a truck. There is a shot of a truck leaving the plant. The film ends with the intertitles "Golden Ray and Blue Ray are produced and packed in Trinidad B.W.I." and "Eat Empire Fruit".
