General note:

The sheets indicate (1) West elevation, south elevation, detail of portico column (NMC 108793) -- (2) East elevation, north elevation, cornice detail (NMC 108794). Dundurn structually complete by 1835 but owner, builder A. MacNab altered it often after this date. This is one of the largest Regency villas in Canada. The Castle is built in brick and the surface is covered with stucco. Large symmetrical and eclectic in its styles, Dundurn castle is best described in Victorian Architecture in Hamilton by A.G. McKay.
