The sheets show: (1) Main and basement floor plans, section - facing towards rear, cornice and baseboard details NMC108874 -- (2) Front and side elevation, front door elevations, display shelves and drawers, detail of sales counter, section NMC108875. Built about 1820, it has Florentine windows with the arcaded design typical of Italinate style. Decorated front is representative of mid-Victorian store design. The interior is substantially that of the 1866 renovations. It is supposed to be the oldest continuing pharmacy in the country. The first pharmacy was two doors down the street and moved into this location about 1836. Pre-1836, this building was a barristers office.
