This copy of Laurie's important map of the west has had considerable manuscript additions made to it. Hand coloration has also been added. The manuscript additions are in the form of notes describing the country and its resources, name changes, and trails. A dotted red line seems to indicate the "limit of true prairie land." The N.M.C. also holds a "clean" copy of this first state and a copy of the second state with "Manitobah" and the boundariess of the new province added.
