This map probably was first printed as a loose sheet in 1531; but in 1532 it was included in the Paris edition of Novus Orbis (see 1522 Munster), replacing the map (Munster?) which had been included in the 1532 Basle edition of the smae work. Again, in 1540, it was inserted in an edition of Pomponius Mela, published in that year. Public Archives of Canada, Sixteenth Century Maps relating to Canada: a check-list and bibliography, (Ottawa, 1956), no. 139
