Description:

This film about foxes shows: bva red fox setting out at dusk in search of food; discovering an empty hen house; waiting with his mate for a chance to raid the chicken coop; entering the coop and capturing chickens; each fox carrying a chicken home; foxes hiding the chickens for a later meal; the farmer and his wife discovering that their chickens are missing; finding the tracks of the foxes; the peasant farmer setting a trap; a fox trapped when he leaves his den; the fox thrashing around on the ground in pain as he is held tightly by the jaws of a trap.

1. Catalogued by Bill Galloway in 1966 (apparently while he was at the NFB) identifies the shooting location as the Netherlands, the production date as 1927, the production company as France Films and the cameraman as Vincennes (possibly the same film as THE FOX, Reel No. 403, on the List of Non-Inflammable Pathéscope Films (Fourth Edition).~2. This film is listed in "Early Films - A Catalogue of Films 1907-1930" by Graphic Consultants Limited.~3. Given the 90-year rule, this title is under copyright until 31 December 2017.
