Collection search - [Map of the post houses between the St. Lawrence River and the Bay of Fundy, along the St. Johns River]. Drawn b [sic] James Peachey, Ensn. 60th. Regt. [cartographic material]

The course of the St. John River, the Madawasca River and the post road from the Madawasca to the St. Lawrence are shown on this map. The location of fourteen post houses and notes concerning navigation on the river and the quality of the adjacent land are given. The date is based on the fact that Peachey joined the 60th Regiment (Royal American) as an Ensign in 1787 (See Note 1). The original is held by the British Museum Kings Maps, CXIX. 59.2c.
