Mathew Seutter was a publisher of maps and globes in Germany from 1707 to 1756. The firm then passed into the hands of his son Albrecht Carl, as well as, J.B. Probst and Tobias Conrad Lotter. Lotter soon controlled the business and reissued Seutter's maps as his own. The LAC has a Lotter copy of this map. The date of publication is probably post 1756. The date of [1750] given to the Seutter map is verified by the British museum catalogue Vol. 13, P. 246. Seutter's map is somewhat distorted and was drawn in the rough style common to all of his maps.
